Pochette à Ouvrages
-Antique Flower Alphabets-

Materials: Antique French red border linen, DMC No.25 1 strand, antique French fabric, antique French red
embroidered ribbons, antique bone rings, antique initial and number tapes, etc.

This is la "Pochette à Ouvrages", because I made this from French antique materials which I loved. :-)

...with pocket for scissors, pockets for three needle packets, padded antique rose fabric as pincushion on which two antique bone rings are put for holding embroidery threads, decorating with cross stitch and ribbons.

Here! Using like this. :-)

The outside appearance should be simple, making the best use of charming red lines, with only initial tape of Casa Mia, and closed with red embroidered ribbon. Also this work will be in my next boutique as a kit. :-)

Antique Wooden Bobbins Xmas Ornaments
-Little Christmas-

Materials: 32ct. Belfast linens (4 different colors), DMC No.25 1 strand, antique wooden bobbins, henp yarn

I love its natural feel of material of antique wooden bobbin and make a collection of various ones. Some collectors value its label or thread (color), but I don't give importance to them because I like their natural and nostalgic feel of "wood". This year, with them, I made these Christmas ornaments. :-)

...from four different colors of 32ct. linens with four different colors of threads...

much better the bobbins which have no waist :-) but you can use leaving some thread or wrapping linen tape etc. on it if its core is slim.

Decorating edge of my favorite antique sewing basket, displaying in small basket... Of course you can decorate on Christmas tree or Christmas wreath! Now I'm preparing kits of this work and will show you at my boutique which opens toward the end of October. Don't miss out! :-)

Ornament Card of "Ste Catherine"
-St. Catherine-

Materials: 32ct. Belfast linen, DMC No.25 1 strand, print cotton, antique lace, antique mini cotton flower, antique glass buttons, ribbon, velvet paper, cardboard, henp yarn

I think you've seen this 3-D type of bonnet postcard if you are interested in antique French postcards. I've been thinking it's very pretty and admired their good and witty sense. And so... I made this ornament card refering to one of them to honor some my single friends. :-)

Bonnet postcards were used on the 25th of November when Catherine, the patron saint of unmarried women and milliners, etc. was martyred. In France, women who've reached 25 years old but haven't married are called "Catherinettes". In old time they sent these bonnet postcard each other or friends sent for them, and made also real bonnet for themselves to encourage and pray for their companion for life.
This old, a little shy and lovely tradition still lives on, changing its style, in the fete of wearing their original and fanciful bonnets and parading.

Hexagonal Patchwork Flower Pincushion
-Antique Alphabets-

Materials: 32ct. Belfast linen, DMC No.25 1 strand, various print cotton fabrics

Now I'm making these patchwork pincushions in style of Hexagonal Flower which is my favorite pattern.
I rather enjoyed combination of colors and patterns of fabrics. :-)

Scalloped Fabric Edging for an exhibition and/or a stall
-Casa Mia-

Materials: 40ct. ecru linen, DMC No.25 1 strand, antique red check linen/cotton mix fabric,
brass eyelets, cardboard

"Casa Mia" will participate for the first time in an exhibition organized among friends, handicraft lovers in France the end of this month. I have to prepare many other things, however oh..., I've just enjoyed making such an amusing fabric edging which is for decorating of "Casa Mia" stall at the exhibition.

This exhibition is held privately among a French enthusiasts gruop and so I cannot open details, programs, etc. to the public. But hopefully I will be able to report something on my site after closed. :-)

Tender Hanger Cover
-Rose & Angel Alphabets-

Materials: 32ct. natural linen, DMC No.25 2 strands, antique lace, antique red embroidered ribbon,
linen/cotton mix fabric(backside)

My favorite antique lace blouse... Too delicate and fragile to wear, and so I want to enjoy displaying on hanger. But I don't want it being covered with dust! Such being the case I made a tender cover for my antique item.

...stitched Rose & Angel Alphabets, put antique lace which is the same type of hand-embroidered on tulle as the blouse on bottom edge, and put antique red embroidered ribbon on top.
Dust is apt to collect on the shoulders so this cover will be able to protect and to display charmingly.

Jolly Sacks
-Antique Alphabets-

Materials: Antique hemp linen roll cut, DMC No.25 2 strands, antique check linens,
antique MOP buttons, leather(suede), hemp yarns, leather cord, stamps

Here! Some other presents for friends. :-)
This summer I could find antique hemp linen in rolls at antique markets which were very rich in texture. So I can use these precious materials in large quantities without stint. This time I've just made some sacks, with which their warm and handwoven texture go well.

stitched three different designed alphabets on antique hemp linens...

for each opening part used three different antique red check linens... All linens used in these sacks are handwoven, and so match each other very well. :-)

and autumn has come, what I've been waiting for! Using suede in design...

Alphabet cross-stitch, antique MOP buttons arranging lengthways, ...and finished with stamps!
