Needle Holder This is one which I’d been wishing to make refering to antique sewing items. The needle holder in style of “Sunbonnet Sue” which is the most popular motif of applique and embroidery in patchwork quilt, appeared first in the late of 19th century in England, and then named Sue and became popular in the U.S.A. Most of the antique ones I’d seen were made simply from felt cut. But I wanted to make it more strong using cardboard and technique of cartonnage, so I thought out how to make for myself. Stitched with DMC color No.221 ( I like this chic burgundy color) on two different natural colored linen... |

...inside put also burgundy color leather paper, simply one page of felt, and edge lace on, put antique miniature MOP buttons on… Here! Finished neat and chic Sue. |

Backside simply put flower print cotton seen like wearing scarf. Well, which sewing basket shall I put her in? Pardon? You want a friend? Then I will make another one or two. :-) |
Needle Holder Here! The second original work made from perforated paper! Stitch design, from my past work "Antique Rose Sampler", made of different colors this time as you notice. |

This way of using ribbon is a familiar technique on antique needle holder which I love, and I'd been wishing to make one. It's smart and elegant, isn't it? |

...on the inside put velvet paper and four pages of felt for needles... |

I'd like to say both faces are the right sides because I like the spirited back cover. :-) |

I will use my favorite color of Burgundy (e.g. No.221 of DMC) again and again... |

Sewing Holders I designed another 2 miniature samplers, from which I made sewing tools holders. I love book style like these to make holders and made many in different arrangements. This time I used suede again on making the backs of books. |

...insides used leather papers which have the texture of real leather and create a quality atmosphere. Chic burgundy color is also my favorite. One made for antique pins and needles, another for antique ivory/bone/MOP stiletto, crochet hooks, thread winders, scissors, etc... |

...chose the same color of embroidery thread as rose patterns on fabric used on back side, and put satin ribbons for closing book... |

I really enjoyed making small things using leather and leather paper. I like it and will make more...:-) |

Frame I love the design of ribbon in style of Louis XVI and made this framed design for cross stitch with one scene of Little Red Riging Hood (Le Petit Chaperon Rouge) written by Perrault in France. |

...made also its mat from cardboard of 3mm thick and covered with antique French fabric... |

The atmosphere of picture depends on how you make and arrange its frame. For example, with this simple frame you can enjoy another different charming atmosphere, can't you? I will continue to make this "Ribbon Frame" design in the series. |

Strap for mobile phone & Key Holder Simple red border design takes effect on little works like these, strap, key holder, etc... I used suede leathers for their materials. They are nice to make things durably. |

Antique red bead, red eyelet, red hemp yarn... They are good for beige colored suede. |

Needle Holder I tried to make a little thing from perforated paper cutting like a fine lace paper for the first time. How enjoyable! :-) ...decorated with cross stitch, antique beads, antique MOP buttons, silk embroidery ribbon... |

...using antique fabrics on both outside and inside, putting vintage Japanese needles came from my mother's collection. I wish there would be a little smaller counted perforated paper like antique ones... |

Bottle Covers I like antique glass bottles for thier shade of relief and retro impression of their peculiar transparency. In this wintry season I added them a little warmth. |

...cross-stitched choosing the same colored thread as check patterns on antique handwoven linen. Also stained antique edge lace added some kind of warm atmosphere... |
