In spare moments from my work for boutique, I enjoyed making such a necklace as this.

A bright idea occurred to me when I was gazing at an antique mother of pearl silk winder on the palm of my hand because of it's small size and lovely shape.

Simply hung on silver ball chain but it's prettier than expected. Like an flower blooming and shining gently.

This is an antique snowflake silk winder made from carved mother of pearl, from French Palais Royal sewing box (c.1820-30), 3cm in diameter. Oh yes, a little half in jest, but I will enjoy wearing this when I will meet with friends who like such antique sewing items. :-)

It looks like going on raining all this week unfortunately. As it were the rainy season in Japan... But nothing gives hydrangeas such great pleasure as rain.

Well, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting for long. Boutique will open from June 23 to 29, and now I'm preparing. I will be happy if you will visit and find something you like at my boutique...

Six different hydrangeas have started flowering. They will delight our eyes at tea time at the terrace until the end of June. :-)

Already the garden chairs were ready to use. All I had to do is to make a matching table. Yesterday I found really matching wooden folding table and so immediately I painted it with the same color as chairs.

This time I left top of table unpainted to enjoy the natural feeling of wood. Well, now I'm making a tablecloth from antique linen sheet. :-)

Last Saturday I went to Rosignano (Alessandria, Piemonte) at where the annual exhibition and sale of handicraft was held. According to the mayor this was the fifth exhibition and every year they invited splendid French artists. I had heard this time my favorite PCB Dijon, Sylvaine Lenoir, Gwenaelle Rabeuf had come and so I'd been looking forward to visitting with Italian friends. As expected it was wonderful and very very interesting, and I could find and get many lovely cross stitch charts.
Here! I've just finished these two works from the charts I've just brought from Rosignano. :-)

Left is "Miniature Poulette" designed by Gwenaelle Rabeuf of L'R de rien . Right design is "Petits Points" by Sylvaine Lenoir which was one of series of three same subject, to which we had our eyes glued strikingly at PCB's exhibition two years ago at Dijon. I finished one as the sewing frame and another as ornament cushion.

Unfortunately the weather was not so good, but strolling at a medieval town on calm and tranquil hills was delightful.

Left is Anna who is my Italian friend, visited Rosignano every year, crazy for red cross stitch like me, and led us the way to the exhibition. Right is Sylvaine who came to Italy for the first time on this exhibiton. Her red cross stitch, other various stitches in sampler, miniatures, petits points, mix of them, etc., etc... How fantastic!!! Recently she has made designs for perforated paper and also they are giving us many pleasure.

Well, I was really beaten! :-) On this antique wear, having full of shabby'n chic lovely texture of antique linen, Gwen (left in photo) stitched and transfered fascinatingly. This work was so so wonderful that I almost felt like slipping off from there wearing this! :-D Bravissima Gwen! Also her red stitches are so cute...

I will be able to meet them again with many other splendid French artists soon at an event in France my friend is now planning. I'm looking forward to joinning them and hoping our hearts become one and united, across the countries and a brick wall of language.
Thank you very much Anna, Sylvaine and Gwen, for your friendship and a favor...

Wow! How lovely! Very beautiful surprise has just arrived from Sylvie today. :-D It's her newly-published in May “GALONS, RUBANS & LINGE ANCIEN”. Oh... so so happy I am!!!

...photo frame, sewing bobbin case, notebook covers, basket cover, pochets, sachets, buttons, sac, bags, pincushion, and of course cartonnage boxes, etc. etc., all made using plenty of lovely shabby'n chic antique linens, tapes, buttons, etc... Antique material fun and red/natural/ecru colors fun must be overjoyed for this book, as I am.
Thank you so much, Sylvie! :-)

In this season you can see many poppies growing in colonies at every place in north Italy. They, red carpets in the spring green delight us while driving. Here, near our house, some people have stoped by and taken photos, some Sunday painters have enjoyed sketching and oil painting...

It's about the end of their season...

May has already come. Oh, no... Time flies like an arrow, doesn't it? In a fluster we've bigun to maintain the terrace which had been uncared for.

First, I washed wooden garden bench and table, while he weeded the terrace and containers.

We planted new 5 different variety of hydrangeas, ...

...3 herbs of sage, rosemary, and mint for my kitchen :-) ...

...between containers of hydrangeas put small ones of lavender...

...start flowering these pink roses at the first every year, ...very lovely,...

... but I'm sorry I'd forgotten the name of rose...

...heal our hearts pleasantly...

...put some containers of ivy at the sides of the entrance...
I wish the other roses, hydrangeas and lavender will also come into blossom by June... :-)
